Giacomo Menegardi
Giacomo Menegardi is the recent winner of the First Prize at the XXXIX edition of the Premio Venezia 2023 held at the Gran Teatro la Fenice in Venice, thanks to which he will be able to perform in a tour of over 20 concerts for the most important musical institutions in Italy and Europe, in solo recitals and accompanied by renowned orchestras such as the Teatro la Fenice Symphony Orchestra.
Giacomo Menegardi, born in 2000, started playing the piano at the age of 6. Menegardi performed in numerous concerts and competitions in Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, France, Scotland, Netherlands and the USA.
He held recitals and concerts with orchestra in prestigious Italian theaters and concert halls such as “Teatro la Fenice” in Venice, the “Largo Gustav Mahler” Auditorium in Milan, the Maffeiana Hall of the Verona Philharmonic Theater, the Municipal Theater of Belluno, “Teatro Olimpico” of Vicenza, Greek Theater of Taormina, Camploy Theater of Verona, “Donna Fugata” Theater of Ragusa-Ibla, Theater of Castelfranco Veneto, Auditori Viader of Girona, Steinway hall in Barcelona.
From the age of eleven he began to participate in numerous national and international competitions, winning over thirty absolute first prizes. Among the most important we remember the First Prize at “Premio Alkan”, at “W. A. Mozart International Piano Competition” in Lugano, semifinalist at “Casagrande” International Piano Competition and “Dublin” Piano Competition, Audience Prize and “Omizzolo-Peruzzi” prize at “Premio Brunelli” of Vicenza, Third Prize ex-aequo at “La Palma d’oro International Piano Competition” of San Benedetto del Tronto, First Prize at the “G. Pecar International Piano Competition”, at the national “Marco Bramanti”, at the “Spoleto International Piano Competition” and Second Prize at the “Luciano Luciani” International Piano Competition in Cosenza.
Menegardi collaborated as soloist with Orchestras such as Filarmonia Veneta, Venice Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica of Castelfranco Veneto, Dolomiti Symphonia and Circle Symphony Orchestra.
He played for important festivals and musical associations such as the International Music Festival of Portrogruaro, the International Festival “In the sounds of places” (Italy), “I Bemolli sono Blu” of Viterbo, the “OperaEstate” Festival of Bassano del Grappa, the “Cittadella International Music Festival “,” Duino International Music Festival “,” Svc Giovani ” of the Teatro la Fenice in Venice,” NU Arts Festival “of Novara, “Piano Sofia” in Milan, “Hammerklavier” Concert Series in Girona, Festival de Música de Sant Pere de Rodes (Spain) and “Ikif International Piano Festival” in New York.
His debut album “Humoreske” with music by Mendelssohn, Beethoven and Schumann was released in 2021 for the Spanish label KNS Classical, arousing wide interest from magazines (Amadeus) and radio (RAI Radio 3 and RadioClassica).
In recent years, Menegardi added an intense activity of chamber music to his activity as a soloist, collaborating with young musicians at the beginning of their concert career and musicians already established on the international music scene. Recently he held a series of concerts with the famous italian violinist Giovanni Andrea Zanon.
Menegardi graduated at Bachelor’s Degree with 110/110 cum laude and honorable mention at Conservatoire of Castelfranco Veneto (Italy) with professor Massimiliano Ferrati, and now he is completing the Master Degree in the same Conservatoire.
He participated in the masterclasses of great artists such as Jerome Rose, Emanuel Krasovsky, Pavel Gililov, Arie Vardi, Andrea Bonatta, Filippo Gamba, Riccardo Risaliti, Alexander Romanovsky, Roberto Prosseda and Dina Yoffe.
His recordings have aired for RaiRadio 3, Radio Classica, RadioBelluno, Radio MCA, Venice Classic Radio and Inblu Radio.
